Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Manager to provide leadership and guidance to our quality department. At Green Action Studio, our quality department is responsible for both manufacturing-related concerns and verification and validation of the embedded software running on our electric vehicle charging solution. The Quality Manager accepts ownership of the quality department and ensures that it is developed in all quality assurance functions. This position is a supervisory position for our other quality department employees. Previous experience as a supervisor or manager is required. All potential candidates should read through the following details of this job with care before making an application.The Quality Manager reports to the Director of Manufacturing Operations. ResponsibilitiesProduce, maintain, and verify adherence to a quality plan. Champion waste reduction efforts collaboratively with the manufacturing team.Track and adhere to a budget. Interview candidates for open positions within the quality department. Propose and follow through on corrective actions during significant deviations from a quality plan. Produce and maintain effective processes and procedures for the quality department.Produce concise, effective, and regular status reports and other communication artifacts for other key departments within the company. Strive for continuous improvement within both the quality department and within the company in general. Approve and manage quality assurance policies and procedures. Participate in departmental sign-off of project or product deliverables.QualificationsA bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field, and at least 7 years of experience within a formal V+V framework. At least 2 years of experience serving within a leadership role within a quality assurance department.Ability to perform in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A positive attitude and good professional demeanor. Desire to work in-person within a hardware manufacturing facility near Schenectady, NY. Good task management skills. Experience with regulatory body standards and requirements, such as UL, ETL, FCC, etc. is highly preferred. ASQ CMQ/OE certification is highly preferred. Knowledge of or experience with ISO 9001 is preferred.
