As part of our growth, we are seeking a talented Quality Assurance Manager with strong leadership skills and a working knowledge of statistics. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing both local and offshore QA teams and a strong focus on test automation.Position Summary:As the Mechanical Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role as a product specialist who studies product life cycles and performs analyses and tests to inform how it will meet its life cycle expectation. A reliability engineer is an expert at identifying potential issues and preventing as many as possible. The Mechanical Reliability Engineer will primarily work on new product development (NPD) projects. This position will be responsible for assuring product performance and reliability from conception through production start. He/she will lead product reliability test plan development, interpreting test results, and work with cross functional engineering team to determine product improvement plans. The candidate will use theoretical technical knowledge combined with analytical thinking and process experience to solve process, maintenance, and technical project problems. The ideal candidate has a passion for delivering products that delight end users and are unbreakable. Key Responsibilities:Provide guidance, planning, and individual contribution for both reliability analysis and testing of Ubicquia products. Author and lead implementation of reliability-related analysis and test plans including:Work with design engineers to define, design, and implement reliability requirements, goals, test plans, test procedures, test fixtures and test reports.Highly Accelerated Lifecycle Testing (HALT) Plan and Execution.Accelerated Lifecycle Testing (ALT) Plan and Execution.Environmental Testing Plan and Execution.Certification Support.Collaborate with internal customers including Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Field Engineering, Service, and Certifications.Contribute to reliability requirements development and ongoing improvements.Assist Hardware Design Reviews (TDRs) to early identify and address reliability challenges.Design necessary equipment or fixtures that are needed for product testing.Process flow and equipment mapping. Develop equipment maintenance plans. Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis.Participate in design reviews.Provide reports as needed.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:understanding of reliability theory and methods.problem-solving skills.tests using environmental test equipment (thermal, humidity, virabtion, etc.).degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related field experience.Minimum 3 years of Hardware design experience.Minimum 3 years relevant reliability work experience.experience working with reliability tools.3+ years in HW design and Reliabilityunderstanding of RF and/or power electronics.teamwork, coordination, and communication skills.energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets.proficiency in interpreting and explaining complex technical information.oriented.problem solver, strategic thinker and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues.with Six Sigma methodology.Bilingual: In both English and Spanish written and oral communications.Ubicquia is an equal opportunity employer.
