Job SummaryUnder direct supervision, the Electrical Technician repairs, designs, maintains, implements, and improves reliability on industrial electrical equipment and fixtures. Works with other Electrical Technicians and Engineers to improve reliability of electrical systems, foster teamwork, and ensure a safe work environment. Prepares electrical materials, components, and assemblies for evaluation and able to interpret engineering change orders, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, photographs, and other documentation as they relate to assigned duties. Construct and install conduit and cable systems. Lays out and construct basiccomplex electrical circuits, fixtures, and assemblies based on drawings and verbal instructions.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesRepairs, designs, maintains, implements, and improves reliability on industrial electrical equipment and fixturesWorks with other Electrical Technicians and Engineers to improve reliability of electrical systems, foster teamwork, and ensure a safe work environmentPrepares electrical materials, components, and assemblies for evaluation and able to interpret engineering change orders, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, photographs, and other documentation as they relate to assigned dutiesConstruct and install conduit and cable systemsLay out and construct basiccomplex electrical circuits, fixtures, and assemblies based on drawings and verbal instructionsPerform basic and complex troubleshooting tasks for electrical equipment and fixtures Responsible for callouts and overtimeRead and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams and schematicsMaintain required documentation for equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and mechanical integrity tasksPerform Preventative Maintenance, and document and report deficiencies to supervisorPerform LOTO according to procedureAbility to mentor and develop less skilledexperienced techniciansPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsPossession of a State of Texas Journeyman Electrical licensePossession of a Certificate in Electrical Technology or equivalent certificatePossession of a NCCER Certification for an Industrial Electrician certificate5 years craft experience in the Petrochemical industry Preferred QualificationsCompletion of an associate degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent preferredVast knowledge of National Electric CodeDemonstrates all performancebehaviors listed below in addition to the following; exceptional technical andor analytical skills and performs unique tasks beyond that expectedComputer skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)Troubleshooting and electrical equipment repair skills
