Assistant Controller - Hybrid in McLean, VAAbout the Company and Opportunity:Our long-time client is a government contractor located in McLean, VA looking to bring on a temporary Assistant Controller.Duration: 6+ monthsHybrid (3 in, 2 out)The leadership team is dedicated to employee success and love to promote from within.Pay: $50-60/hr depending on experience.Some of the employee reviews, include things like: "My supervisors helped me with networking and career advancement.""Challenging work environment that cultivates personal growth by constantly providing new opportunities."Overview of the Assistant Controller role:Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the companys financial status.Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.Assists with preparations for audits.Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff.Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management.Ad hoc projects.Preferred Qualifications for the Assistant Controller:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related is preferred5-10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting positionGovernment Contracting experience is requiredCostpoint is a plusAdvanced Excel skills - pivot tables, VLOOKUPs INAPR2024
